I just changed my phone number on a Pay As You Go phone two weeks ago because I wanted a local area code. Just got the call about an hour ago and didn't answer it because I knew no one would be calling me on my phone except my doctor and they're closed. The only - and I mean the ONLY - people who have this number right now are my doctor's office here locally. So these people are auto-dialing. I called back with Skype and got a busy signal.
I imagine that the calls you receive from telemarketers are under the same restrictions as the calls you can get from bill collectors. So everybody please check the laws in your state and if this company that calls you illegally, it might not hurt to check with a lawyer. I understand there are some lawyers who make a living suing the bill collectors and telemarketers for doing things like this.
I got these calls too, weird and offensive. If you are a verizon customer, probably others too, find out how to block calls and list them. And call your representative/congressman to get legislation to stop those who do this to us!
