Good afternoon, I hope that you are enjoying your day so far. My name is Cheryl and I will be glad to assist with addressing your concern regarding calls that you are receiving from the below number. I know how much of a pain it cam be to receive unwanted calls. I will do my very best to assist in resolving this matter for you.
William, I took the liberty in dialing the number provided and was able to receive the same message: the number that you are dialing has been disconnected or no longer in service. The calls that you may be receiving are possible from Spoofing. I know you're probably asking yourself, what is spoofing? Spoofing is a technique that allows a caller to change the caller identification associated with their number. For example: When using this service I could call you but instead of it showing my actual number I can put in any number to disguise my call. This is not a service supported by Verizon Wireless but instead is via a third party that users may download via their handset or by visiting a particular website. Examples of the third parties are Spooftel, Spoofer, and Spoof Card.
To avoid a call from this particular number, I recommend adding our Call and Message Blocking feature. This is a great feature; I use it myself for unwanted calls. This feature will allow you to block up to five ten-digit numbers (per wireless number on the account) from calling or messaging you. Call and Message Blocking does not block calls from unknown or restricted numbers or messages sent from an e-mail address. The block will remain active for 90 days. Once it expires you will need to request to have the block reinstated. To add and remove this feature you can do so via the below steps.
1. Log into your online My Verizon account with Account Owner user ID and password
2. Click on “Block Calls and Messages” icon located under “Plan” in the “I Want To” section near the middle of your home page.
I am delighted that I was able to address your concern regarding calls that you are receiving from the below number. Thank you for being the best part of Verizon Wireless, we appreciate your business. Have a great day!
