Keeps calling. Message on answering machine first time was to 'invite me to free food and drinks' to celebrate at their Rent A Center. Lady left message saying 'she wasn't selling anything". My answering machine clearly tells people I am on do not call list and dont' buy anything over the phone. Now they keep calling and hanging up after the full answering machine message is done. .
Contacted them and they deny calling me though my caller i.d. clearly shows their company name, phone number, time and date they called. They said someone used my phone number as a contact number last year after asking for more information. I told them to remove the number, i never called them and not to give my number out to anyone.
There is a way many companies get around the 'do not call' law. They have a 3rd party give or sell them a list of persons and phone numbers who they say 'asked for more information or made an inquiry" which is mostly or totally a lie. The main company buying the list acts innocent and makes phones calls off this fake inquiry list with impunity until told to stop. If you try to sue them, if it can be done, you are told that they had a reasonable right to call you. See how laws can be ignored legally?
