Got a call on my cell and my work phone. Person had an Indian accent and stated I had a "bond" for my arrest. He tells me I had money deposited into my checking acct and I have avoided paying it. He threatened that the police would show up at my house. He had my social.
These things are getting worse. I entered my social on a pay day loan site as well as my phone number and my direct line at work. So far, I have two charges (EFT) unauthorized debits to my checking acct. One is for some credit warehouse where you become a member and buy the crap they have to sell (yes it is crap). The other is for a VOIP service I never signed up for. All charges are under $50, which is a misdemeanor. They are playing it close.
The guy who threatened me today used the wrong terms. First off, there is mail fraud. Mail fraud would be investigated and I would just be arrested. Second, if I had committed a crime, he would not want to "help" me. How dumb do these guys think I am. I even called the guy back just now as I am up late with insomnia. Busy signal. Go figure.
So, tomorrow I have to go to the bank and fix that. Then I have to look into identity theft. I have a credit monitoring service I pay for. I'll have to contact them.

The number above was his voicemail he left on my voicemail. My work saves all voicemails as files I can access. I am going to track this guy down. My work caller ID showed "666-071-1836" which is a spoofed caller ID. He was trying to get my bank details by using fear. Too bad for him I know how the law works.
