I sold home security systems door to door in college and that was one of our methods. They are willing to give you a "free" home security system, probably even including installation, so long as you advertise for their company by placing a sign in the yard. Even if they give you all of equipment and installation for free you still have to sign a contract for 3 years of monotoring service, which is where they actually make their money. Not necessarilly a scam, just a twist on a common offer.
Several calls with no answer and finally an answer and disturbing call. I believe it may be a security scam or could be possibly even more serious as the caller asked if I was interested in a free home security system in exchange for advertising. I have a system already- he then asked if I currently use a monitoring station. Too personal and unneccessary info! this is very suspect!
They've been calling me every day. Today I called back and after several seconds it said if you wish to be placed on a do-not-call list, press 1, which I did. We'll see if that works.
