I bought a Digitone call blocking device. Its a little pricy at $100.00, but I no longer have a problem with robocalls or telemarketers. The device stopped them cold. You can block individual numbers, area codes and you can even set up your own invited caller list, anyone not on the list can't get through. All they hear on their end is a busy signal. Best $100.00 dollars I ever spent. No more late night calls, no more dinner interuptions, no more unwanted calls period!!! I finally got fed up with the DNC list, it is not enforceable. My frustration and anger with the phone company doing nothing to resolve the problem was at the breaking point, until I found this great product. I am a very, very, very, satisfied customer. When these unwanted calls come in, my phone does not ring. The device screens for accepted calls and blocks all others. Check it out online. Don't continue to be frustrated and annoyed, just block them out. you will be happy you did...
The robo call identified itself as Card Member Services. I hit 1 to talk to a live person and told them I was on the Do Not Call Registry. The woman asked, "do you know why we called?" I said, "I don't care why you called, I just want to be put on your Do Not Call list." She said, "Well, WE don't care to put you on our list," and hung up on me.
I am SOOOOO sick and tired of getting calls from this company which is "wishing to help me reduce my credit card debt" by offering a reduced interest rate. I am on a DO NOT CALL LIST and am ready to call in an attorney to help solve this problem if I get just ONE MORE CALL. I just got one at 1:40 PM Oct. 18, 2012 CST.
I answered this call because I didn't read the ID, so I thought maybe the "friendly" attendant that would "come on the line to assist" me would not hang up like they usually do. I told him to stop the harassment and that I had reported them the the FCC. He hung up, of course.
I am sure the attendant has no way of putting a hold on a phone number, because the robotic system does the dialing work. I did call back the number that called me, and was surprised to find that I actually got an automated response. One of the options is to press "1" to stop the calls, which will take 24 hours to go into effect. I am skeptical that it will do any good, but I pressed the 1.
