Called me twice today and went as far as instructing me to go to my bank - then talked me through how to make out a check for $3,900. Of course I didn't do any of this. Please catch these people. I'm a graduate school educated professional - I get it. But some unsuspecting elderly person may get taken. Also said law suit had been filed against me by the IRS.
These people called me twice. Left a message saying the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me.
Like everyone else, it's the same scam. I called the number back and played along up to the point where the persistent so called "IRS agent" asked for personal information and even bank info.
Don't fall for this. It is a clear scam out to get easy targets. Victims of these scams need to contact the IRS immediately.
IRS stating this my last call, they're filing a lawsuit against me. Did not call back and won't, this is not the first time they have called. A few years back I answered but knew better. IRS will contact you by mail that you will have to sign for. Don't fall for this SCAM. Tell family members because there are people who do what these SCAMMERS ask.
