I received this call today.  The gentlemen stated he was calling to make me aware that I was able to get a lower interest rate on my credit cards.  He stated I only needed to give him the number.  I told him to give me the last four numbers of my card.  He started giving me different numbers and that he was only trying to help me get lower interest rates.  I stated I did not request same.  The more he talked the madder I got.  I told him to give me my password etc. and got no response.  I hung up on him and called my credit card fraud sections and informed them of this call and placed an alert on the cards.

This phone number belongs to a public utility named CallerID4U, Inc., which is run by Paul Maduno and Luis Martinez.  They have entered into revenue sharing agreements with telemarketers who make illegal unsolicited telephone calls.  They profit directly from these outbound unsolicited telephone calls.

This appears to be a clear violation of a number of laws, including 16 C.F.R. §310.3(b) of the Federal Telemarketing Sales Rule.
