i missed the call last night on my cell. After listening to the voice message, which said, "...you could be entitled to financial compensation... please press 1 to speak to a representative or press 9 to be removed" The message didn't include to whom I would be speaking, so i decided to be Nancy Drew today and look up the number. From what I can tell by the posts here, its a lawyer calling regarding Yaz ~ birthcontrol gone bad. The thing I have an issue with is that I was pregnant shortly after discontinuing Yaz, which has now been linked to birth defects. How did they get my #, know I had taken Yaz or had a baby shortly after stopping? conincidence? not so sure.
Called my cell phone last night -did not leave a message - called by husband's cell today, he just called me, they said this was our last chance to lower our credit card interest rate from 29.99% to 6%??? Told him it was a scam and that I wasn't going to call them back. If it was from our credit card company I would have gotten notice by email.
Call at 6:32 AM (PST). Hung up as I answered. I called back and got, "The number you called is a spoofed number. Leave your name and phone number if you want more information."
Uhhh, right. They are calling random numbers and seeing who calls back. Then they can collect names and phone numbers of people gullible enough to respond. Clever but sneaky.
Just got a call from this # didn"t know this number so I let it ring until the fax machine picked-up, so than I came to this site to see if others had received calls from this number, an I see that I'm not the only one, where are these people getting our phone numbers from?
