A man who did not identify himself asked for me by my full name and asked if I remembered about the government grant that I applied for (I didn't). I said that I never applied for such a grant and to please remove me from the calling list. He said ma'am this isn't a call to sell you something, this is about a grant that you applied for on November 23, 2015 to receive financial aid if you wanted to return to school (again, no I didn't). I again stated that I never applied for such a grant and please take me off of your call list. He said they don't call from lists of numbers and remained insistent that I had applied for this so-called grant so I interrupted him and said "then lose my number because I never applied for any grants!" And he hung up on me.

Its a call from Buckley Washington. It repeatedly calls my number, but never leaves a message. I finally just blocked it.

Someone name "Steven Smith" called me on my cell phone from this number.  Asked to speak to my son and I told him that I was his mother.  Person (with accent) went to to tell me why they were calling...it was in regards to a "grant" that my son supposedly applied for in October of 2015.  I told him that my son didn't apply for a grant to go back to school and further went on to ask him why is he blowing up my phone trying to reach my son?  He said this is the number that was given and I told him, no it couldn't be because my son wouldn't give out his number for anything.  He then said, well can you give me his number and I told him no and then asked him what was this place and he said "U.S. Financial Institution" and he gave me the number to call which was 1-800-855-1600.  Just as I was about to ask him more questions, he hung up.  I looked up this 1-800 number and it looks to be a number for Capitol One on another website...Total scam...

I got called I was told the same thing that I was approved for a grant I supposedly requested. He wanted my card number to put money in. I gave  a number to a card that isn't valid. He said I will call you tomorrow at d same time. To assure you of deposit. All I had to do was to tell them how I would use d grant. He never called back I'm sure it's a scam

Same deal - man with Indian accent said I had been awarded a Pell Grant from the federal government. "Free money you can use to pay off school, businesses, or personal expenses. Do you want that?" I told him I had no memory of applying, he said my application date was December 2, 2015. I asked for more information via email and he hung up on me. Clearly a scam call.
