Got a call from this KATIE person and she left a message told me to call her back. Called back and blocked my number and she said she was with GCI. she asked who I was I told her non of her business and she would not answer what GCI is. This doesnt come up as a collection but a telemarketer? I get several calls from numerous number wanting to lower my credit etc etc and all scams. This is getting way out of hand.
GCI= Grimm Collections Inc. Guessing from the phone number it is Olympia based. I thought the voicemails had to indicate it was an attempt to collect a debt?
Katey called from this number regarding past due invoice which was paid in full.
I asked her not to call me again but she did after a week. I told her that I am putting her on notice that she is violating FDCPA and do not call me. She defiantly told me that she will keep calling, and she is not violating the Fair Credit Act (which is the wrong law to cite).
Strangely she thought I am recording the call. I did not and did not emtntion that I was recording. She mentioned that she is ALSO recording the conversation. Hmmm, since she never announced that the call is being recorded and asked for my consent she is also violating Washington Revenue Code (9.73.030) and California Penal Code 632 (I live in CA), and 18 USC 2511.
I thought I missed the name of the company she called from. Upon reading other posts it seems that she never mention to anyone.
Anyway, upon digging I found out the company name and address. I will write them a letter to advice them not to call. I actually look forward to another call if she ever call again because she is liable for civil penalty under all those laws she broke. Would be a nice windfall for me and fair punishment for her.
I get a call from 360-754-6337. From Laurie asking for another person's phone number. I don't give it but she gives me 360-754-6337 as the number to call back. No company mentioned. "Laurie" is fishing for contact information.
