•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. They are extortion Scam Calls.  See my post below for more.

I had the same message about the IRS filing a lawsuit against me. What a bunch of scammers.

Have received this same phone call as the others here with a garbled message saying 'the IRS has filed a lawsuit against me"  If someone officially from the IRS was going to do something like that, I think they would send a registered letter or a process server would be at my door. Must be hoping to scare someone into giving out their Social Security number.

same thing happened to me today - I told them my son was a police officer and hung up ... Freaked me out though
