Both my husband and I got this wierd automated call that the IRS has a lawsuit against us. I hung up and blocked the number. But new calls come in and it becomes harrassment.
I answered- it was an automated "IRS Important Message" and left the number to call back. I called (same # that called me), an Indian-decent man claimed I owed $3,000 from an audit between 2010-2015 and an arrest warrant has been placed to me. I almost gave them my current address, as they claimed letters from the IRS were sent to an old address where i used to live 5+ years ago. I did, regretfully, give them my work email address to send the letters to, but that was it. I'm ASSUMING this was a scam, but no one from IRS could confirm -- I did the chat thing, they told me to call. I called and it's all automated and "experiencing high volume". I reported the # to TIGTA.GOV.
IRS will never call you! they will send certified letters. or the will find your current place of employment and send paperwork to them to garnish your wages! I repeat IRS will never call you
This is a SCAM!!! When i asked these people to remove my number from their call list,she said she was tracking my location to come and pick me up, i said no you're going to remove my number now, and her response was "go fu^k yourself you b!tch" That is NOT how the IRS handles business. Not to mention, the IRS will NEVER call you, there notices come in the mail.
