Just called us too, it's scam! The firefighters and police DO NOT call asking for money!!!! If you get a call like this please call the police department and report this, it happens a lot in Washington state, these thief's steal tons of money primary from elderly, they need to be stopped!
We just got 2 calls in 2 days from them so I looked up the number.
The message they left on our voice mail said it was the THR Group calling for the Wa State Firefighter's Association spring fundraiser. (www .thethrgroup .com was the site they mentioned)
I dont believe they are legit but even if it was a legit fundraising for firefighters they take off a percentage (often times quite large) of money donated for their 'fee' so it is always best to give to any charity directly so ALL proceeds go the where they should and not to scammers.
