have been receiving calls for the last two weeks from a local phone number that invites me to lower my credit card interest rates. Since they were calling my cell phone, I decided to finally put an end to it. The person on the other end of the line, who identified himself as Scott Williams, employee ID 313, claimed to be working with the FDIC to lower credit card interest rates. When asked to verify his company or affiliation he referred me to the 'FDIC web site' which was fdicbank.com. I felt unsure as the webpage had an advertisement to purchase that web domain! Regardless, this group was attempting to get ALL of my credit card numbers and current balances under the auspices of reducing the interest rates to below 10%. I could hear what sounded like a call center in the background where other operators were getting credit card numbers from other people. The phone number that they were calling from locally (360.870.4173) goes to a personal voice mail box. When I asked Scott to call me on the landline, I was unable to capture the phone number that he called from. I hope that you are able to find this group, and if they are legitimate (which I doubt) please let me know.
