Got 2 messages from this phone number to my cell phone...first stating I needed to call them back immediately (no reason)...the second stated it was the IRS and final notice that I must call them back or a lawsuit would be filed. Obvious scam but need to alert the public. The IRS does not call you. They will correspond with you initially in writing. Don't call this number back!!!
Received 5 messages from 361-220-8824 saying that the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me and I need to call right away. Imagining it was a scam, I called and the agent proceeded to give me my charges and how much I'm being sued for and all of the alleged charges. I asked about being notified in writing, they reported they couldn't reach me and the letters bounced back from the mail so this was the last courtesy call from Washington DC. When I asked the representative, Joan DSouza - badge #IRM24786, what my name was, she began speaking in her native language and hung up.
