All three encountered my answering machine and none left a message.

They should be required to leave a msg and not hang up and call back repeatedly.

Theory: political call. Possibly survey.

Time to change my message so it sounds like I'm really answering ...

"Hello?" Two second pause ... "Hello?" .... "I can't hear you, speak up"...."Ooops, you've reached the machine, leave a msg."

That usually does the trick, and you'll hear the other person or at least half of their computer spiel asking u to hold for someone.

The call was from a survey company wanting to know our recent experience at Petco.

Claimed to be calling from SSI wanting to do a survey with regard to "Executive Training".  I told her we do not do surveys and she just kept up the script "This is not a sales call . . ."  Finally, I just hung up on her.
