Made the mistake of answering the phone. Some guy with heavy accent asked to speak with "the manager". I said, "What do you want?" He gave me the "being recorded, please call back at xxx number if we are cut off" pitch. I said, "huh?" He then started rattling about scratch-offs and prizes and....I told him to stick it somewhere and hung up. Please tell me I am not driving on icy freeways with people who are stupid enough to fall for this stuff.
Caller asked for manager; when told this was private residence said "That's ok because this number is a winner". They went on to say I could win just for answering 3 easy questions starting with my employment. I hung up.
Woman called and asked to speak to the manager. I told her she was speaking to the manager. She said we had won a scratch card and an opportunity to win a trip to the Bahamas and some other prizes (I couldn't understand her too well) if we answered three simple questions. She asked if I worked part-time or full-time. I told her we weren't interested. She asked again. I repeated we weren't interested. She hung up. Sounded fishy. She wouldn't tell me the name of her company or what company she was trying to reach.
