A rather Indian accented woman called and asked for the manager, then when I said that he wasn't available she offered the "vacation 3 day 2 night hotel package" that our number had been chosen that I would need to answer a few questions for in order to receive it. I informed her that we were not interested and promptly hung up. I did not wait for any of the questions.
Some lady called and asked for the manager and I stated that he was not here and she proceeded to explain to me the reason for her call. She stated that I won something and wanted to ask me 3 questions and I stated that I am not interested and she proceeded to ask the questions.. I eventually just hung up on her because she was not listening and apparently cannot take directions very well..
I have received many calls from this number (and another one of their numbers.. adding your number to the Do Not Call registry hasn't helped). The first time, I got nearly to the end after answering most of their questions. While on the call, I googled the number and saw so many reports of it being a scam call, found a thread that listed the entire 'manuscript' of what 'they' were to say to 'us', and then switched all my answers to "no thank you." Recently, they would hang up after I said hello, however, today the same lady (she has a very distinct accent) asked for a manager, and I knew instantly who it was, and decided to have a little fun this time to see if she would stop making future calls.
Her: "Is a manger available?"
Me: "not available."
Her: "Ok, no problem. (our company name) has been selected in a drawing. I have an offer for you ...blah blah blah... Are you working full time or part time?"
Me: "yes."
Her: "I'm sorry, are you working full time or part time?"
Me: "sure."
Her: "Mam, are you working full time or part time?"
Me: "no thank you."
Her: "Hold on, mam. You don't have to buy anything. Are you working full time or part time?"
Me: "both." (this went on a few more times)
Her: "Ok we will go to question number 2. Are you between the ages of 18-25, 26-35, ect."
Me: "um. 207."
Her: "I'm sorry? Are you between the ages of 18-25, 26-35, ect."
Me: "82."
Her: (a little more frustrated) "I'm sorry, are you between the ages of 18-25, 26-35, ect."
Me: "no thank you."
Her: "Hold on, mam. You don't have to buy anything. Are you between the ages..."
Me: "no thank you."
Her: "Hold on, mam. You don't have to buy anything. Are you between the ages..."
Me: "no thank you."
Her: "Goodbye"
I was amused how after every time I said "no, thank you", she felt the need to tell me to 'hang on' and insure me that I didn't have to buy anything. I would have like to taken it further, but being that I am at work when I get these calls, I still have to be professional.
