Same this happen to me, i got a funny feeling about the situation of a vacation rental in Long Beach CA  may 2010 when he did not want to call me back, he only comunitcated by email and final the number provied no one picks up.

Good thing i looking him up, and did not send the money by  western union

There is no extra charges for this. I will render this service for free.The owner his studying her phd degree in Uk she is the one you will be sending the deposit to and she accept only western union as form of payment.I am an agent.I will send you our agreement and booking form as soon i have your reply to know you are interested in the apartment.

Guys, I think this Mark (who is operating on the East Coast as well) is more sinister than you may think.  His e-mails are sent through Nigeria, suggesting that the FBI may have an interest in pursuing him (think 419 Scams, identity theft to allow the WU money transfers to be picked up).  I am calling my local FBI office.

the do not call list is for land lines & cellphones. it's free and provided through the government website www.donotcall.gov there you can list all your phone numbers- they will send you an email with a link to complete the request- this needs to be done within 72 hrs. There is a link to file a complaint as well. Good Luck! Also keep in mind that there are people "out there" who post in attempt to get a rise out of others- try to overlook them. Please pass this info on to friends & family- Good Luck!

I too found his email to be "full of it", he also is operating in Panama City Beach, Florida. You can file a complaint on-line with the Federal Trade Commission. See Mark's latest email below:

Thank you all for posting this info.  I responded to a craigslist ad for a beach house rental in san diego and I got almost word for word the same e-mails you all posted above.  I knew it was too good to be true since the rental amount is half of what the others are asking and the key words "western union" gave me a bad feeling.  Also the fact that he would not answer any of my questions.  Below is the correspondence I had with him.  Good thing I had a funny feeling and googled "marvelous mark".  Thanks everyone.
