Indian-sounding guy named Kevin Singh called my workplace, under the guise of the Local Yellow Pages and wanted to ask me about advertising. I told him the secretary wasn't available, and asked for contact info to give her (I've had plenty of these sort of calls already and wanted to report them). He number he gave me was 1 800 425 2423, which is some building development company in Bangalore, India, but the number on the caller ID was 386 555 0126. I asked where the business was located, and he told me Canton, OH. I asked him to spell Canton and he gave me Cantion.
The caller id said DIR ASST FL, and the phone rang three times and left no voicemail. Yesterday I received a call from a different number (with several 800Notes comments) with a similar caller id of DIR ASST TN.
Received call from Dir Assist FL. I answered the call after two rings and there was no one one the line. I have no idea who this phone number belongs to.
These are scammers....received numerous calls from Dir Asst....various states...be aware....they are trying to get you to modify your computer....act like they are affiliated with windows...I don't want to put too much on here as I'm sure the crooks are monitoring these types of sites...use extreme caution...
