This number called, I don't answer numbers idk. Has anyone else changed to Metro pcs for phone service? I never got these kind of scam numbers calling me before I switched to them. I'm wondering if it's connected. Probably not, but it seems fishy to me.
Received a call from 386-628-0965 at 6:22 PM on 07/09/14. A woman asked for me by my first name. When I replied that she was speaking to me, she hung up on me.
The previous day, the same woman had called and said she was calling regarding my Dog Fancy magazine subscription. At that point, I knew it was a scam and hung up on her.
I guess she did not get the message.
Calls repeatedly and won't take no for an answer. Asked if I've been receiving "American Cowboy" magazine. Then goes into a sales pitch for a discounted renewal rate. Told them no less than 3 times I wasn't interested and to remove me from their marketing list and they will not.
The DNC doesn't screen or block calls for anyone, nor was it ever intended to be used against scammers. Scammers do not purchase the list and couldn't if they wanted. Its sole purpose for creation and is still intended to limit the amount of Telemarketing (Sales by phone) by legitimate businesses who are registered with the FTC as telemarketers, and who must purchase and maintain the Do Not Call List on a monthly basis. All other violations by all others and for all other reasons, come under other government entities, i.e. FCCs, etc.
To many people assume that the DNC has total responsibility for all unwanted calls to each and every individual in the US. Nope. Just Legitimate and Registered with the FTC Telemarketing businesses.
