It is indeed a scam. I just got this e-mail:
we are contacting you from United states fraud investigation department,
to inform you that there is a legal case filed against you and there are some
civil and criminal charges applied on you case file.
This is about a loan fraud that was done by you, we made sevral attempts to contact you
on your home phone as well as work phone but all the time we got voice mail, we left you
some voice mails as well but got no responce from you, now you just have 48 hours to contact us
and settle this matter before it gets downloaded to the county court of your state.
