I believe this is a junk debt collector, threatening to sue over debts long passed out of the statute of limitations. Harassing phone calls, several in a day.
Just got a call from 401-280-1373 representing M. Haynes attempting to collect an EXTREMELY old debt (years beyond statute of limitations) by seeming to threaten a lawsuit. A little research seems to indicate the address on S. Angell is a UPS Store location, so good luck finding any REAL info on this fishing expedition.
I received a call, mumbled something about a mediator for the department of some kind of company 'games? of associates or and associates. Like I said very mumbled, & I wrote every word down I could understand that would be important, & we ( my husband & I listened to it SEVERAL times until we got tired of "Reggie's ( his name) voice. He said he was calling about a civil claim suit, & told me to return the call & gave me a case #.
I feel if this were real, the # would be listed ( & it wasn't) my next step is to return the call, & hide my #, to see if they give a company name or business. Wish me luck.
Also, I fell if this was a true debt collector, it would have shown up when I filed for credit & bought a brand new car last year. If there is one thing I hate & is a pet peeve are bogus scammers trying to get money from people who are easily frightened, or the elderly! I wish for karma on these scammers!
