An unwanted call from this invalid (spoofed) Rhode Island number arrived today. When the call rolled to voice mail, the caller left a recorded message from the "Credit Card Monitoring Center" proclaiming that "because of your excellent credit rating, you are eligible for a new credit card", ostensibly at a zero percent interest rate. The message instructed to press a number to begin the application and approval process. When there was no response, the recorded message said "Good-bye" then disconnected.
This is very similar to the "Rachael with Card Services" scam that has circulated for the last seven years. These robocallers often spoof their originating phone numbers to cover their tracks while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.
DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF THESE TELECRIMINALS. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.
