Yeah, "dead air", as well. But noisy background. Couldn't make out what they were saying. But I thought I heard a voice whispering into the phone, "I will kill you" very softly. Could this be a retaliation call for previously hanging up on or saying something rude to a telemarketer? I also considered they were trying to use up my answering machine space (which they did) to annoy me as some form of punishment. Hmmn...
