Actually, the "do not call" list has the opposite purpose -- it is used to verify
that the number dialed by the automatic dialer is a valid working number and
places you on the confirmed list to receive unlimited spam calls in the future
from the companies that buy the list.
Accelerated Debt Solutions - called 11/29/2011 and I spoke to someone and asked to be put on the do not call list. Today, 12/1/2011, got an automated call on my voicemail from this number. I called the number and a recording said "Hello and thank you for calling, if you would like to be placed on our do not call list, press one." I did. We will see if they call again....
