I did some research into this sketchy company and here are some links to things that I found:
Their site: http://www.portableinsights.com/
An article about an older company, owned by the same CEO: http://criminalpollsters.blogspot.com/2008/08/opinion-factor.html
I was able to find criminal records for the CEO, Bart DeBont, and also their Senior Production Manager most likely has a false name listed, as when you view the image file, you can see his name is actually Jason Morrell: http://www.portableinsights.com/IMAGES/Jason+Morrell.JPG
DeBont has 20+ records of fraud, embezzlement, etc.
Jason Morrell has one record of robbery.
Both men were part of 'Opinion Factor', the older company that I listed above.
The records for their crimes can be found here: http://courtconnect.courts.state.ri.us/pls/ri ... ain.cp_main_idx
Please do not fall for this scam, thank you and have a good day.
Left message about going to website for survey & gift card. Website asked for phone number that was called & then proceeded to say I wasn't eligible for the survey they just called about. I called the number back & a message stated it wasn't part of the do not call list because it was exempt because it was a market survey. If you left message with your phone # they would remove it within 72 hrs. Surprise!!! The mail box was full. Sounds like a scam
This is just a means to get around the spirit of the do not call list. If you would like to see how the owner of this organization feels about it, contact him at his home, Bart de Bont -- 401-826-8374, Coventry, RI
We received a call from this number today, June 5, 2013, at 2:39 pm when we weren't home. The caller ID said "unknown name". Everything was the same as Jay wrote about the website and gift card. I was also told I wasn't eligible for the survey. When I called back the voice mailbox was full. I agree that it sounds like a scam.
They say this is a survey. But, I think this is a political ad. They are myideascount.com They say if you go to their website and answer some questions, that you will get a $5 gift card to amazon. So, I did it, It looked legitimate and I did the survey. Dumb move. Don't do it. I did this yesterday. NO $5 amazon gift #'s were sent to my account.I gave them over 24 hours. TOTAL SCAM.
