Got the call thinking it was our area code 404 - didn't have my glasses on. Recorded voice said my "medical package was ready to be sent to me." I knew immediately that it was a telemarketing sham so I hung up. I hate these people and would never do business with any company conducting robo calls. I no longer donate to charities that use telemarketing for donations. I wish everyone would stop supporting organizations that use telemarketing.
I got a call from this number a little after 2:00 pm today. Caller ID said "Block Island". So, even though the area code was the same as mine, I don't know anyone on Block Island, and just let it go to VM. No message was left -- what a surprise... Then I blocked it.
Once I get one of these spam/scam phone calls, I can block the number myself so it doesn't bother me a second time. But I do wish Verizon and other phone providers would start taking some responsibility and help block these garbage calls.
