Who called from 4015193908

Text message on my cell phone that I never use. 401 is Rhode Island area code and I live in RI.

The message says (and I typed it exactly as it appears)

CREDIT UNION ALERT - Your ATM/CARD has been DEACTIVATED. Please call the 24 hour Account Access Line. 401-519-3908


I am going to say that this is a TOTAL SCAM. Just hit delete. I always know everything about my banking. I have had the same cell phone number for a long time and doubt it was sent mistaken to someone who had the number b/f me.

You're right.  Its a scam.  The scammer is trying to trick you into giving him your ATM card number an PIN so he can empty your account.

For other potential victims - if in doubt call the number on your statement or on the back of the card.
