I missed a call from this number and the voicemail said that the caller is a Ms. Marilyn Gordon and that I left a message for her and she's returning my call? Really? She called me on my cell and if the number is not familiar I do not answer the phone let alone "leave a message for her"? She said she's calling from the check fraud division and that she or my legal representation can call her back, rather she said a Josie called her and that's not even my name. She said that my name is involved in a check fraud with my name on it that if I or my legal representative do not call her the claim will be filed in the state of Virginia. I'm not from Virginia! I will have my attorney listen to this voicemail message and get her phone number and maybe she will stop calling me. Googled the phone number and it says the call originated from Rhode Island. The nerve of this woman making threats on the phone.
Just got an odd call from these people saying they are from the national check fraud of America and they wanted to know if I knew a particular person with my same last name that was supposedly part of a check scam. I think these people are scammers and phishers. I didn't get them any of my info and I would suggest others don't as well. Googling the number came back to Level 3 Communications.
Pretty much the same thing here, but I did not answer and they left a voicemail. It did seem pretty fishy to me as the woman who left the message was kinda all over the place and wasn't really clear as to what the heck she was calling about. Not only that, the caller ID said Rhode Island, yet she claimed to be calling from Arizona. They weren't calling for me, but I dunno even why they called in the first place. I don't even use checks!
I just received a message from these people stating I need to call them or my attorney, regarding check fraud. They called all four numbers on my account. The message states, if I do not call they will have to file with the state of Texas, where I live. The lady was as above "all over the place" incomplete statements. Never mentioned the business name or who the claim was with.
"Ms. Gordon" left a message for me yesterday in California. She was somewhat hostile on the VM telling me to call her back immediately re check fraud of a person I know and that I am a known associate of him. She mis-pronounced his last name, so I had to re-listen to it b/c at first I had no idea who she was talking about. She said she was calling from San Bernardino where his mother lives. I am 125 miles away in another city. I contacted the person she was calling about and he said they are calling a lot of his friends and family and that it was a "google scam" call.
I just got call from mrs gordon she said if 770.80 wasnt paid by 5:00 a warrant would be issued. How do these people get your information. And she said she was from rhode island and I live in texas. But when u call her back she doesn't answer the phone.
