This is one of the most outrageously deceptive scams yet. The identity "Name Unavailable" shows up in the caller ID on my phone, followed by this number. I used another phone, with callerID block on it, to return the call. This creep has copied a legitimate Cox Communications recording, to make you think it is a call from Cox. It invites you to press 1 if you are an existing Cox customer or 2 if you are not. When I pressed 2, a fellow with a heavy accent who called himself "Frank" and mumbled that he was from "Cox ----" (it was too jumbled to hear the full name answered. At that point, I hung up. Whenever I receive a legitimate call from Cox, it always names Cox in the callerID. This fraud is over the top. What will these fraudsters think of next, to try to trick folks?
