I was asked some questions one day about my fire alarms, and then a few days later received a call stating I had won a free home security system thast would only cost $1 a day to keep hooked up to local emergency. It seems fishy, and when I googled "variable, or versatile marketing systems, nothing came up.
Had trouble understanding the women except that I had won a free home security system as a result of some thing that I had entered. No such thing as a free security system
4 calls in 4 days all claim to be vms alarm, the callers were hardly understandable(middle eastern?). the calls were from 4 different numbers in the 401 area code(Rhode Island). They were for a survey first and then saying that I won a GE security system. I asked the name of the company many times from 2 different callers to be sure that I understood that he was saying "vms alarm". A google search turned up absolutely nothing for "vms alarm". I am pretty sure that I am on the "do-not-call" list. TThe calls received were:
7/24/08 7:07PM 401-427-0929
7/28/08 8:05PM 401-623-8616
7/29/08 12:46PM 401-623-8590
7/29/08 8:38PM 401-244-5800
They all look to be cell phone numbers. If you suspect anyone to be calling from a fake business, report it to the FCC. There is a form on the web site. Also check with the better business bureau (BBB)
