I got a call from this phone number today. They indicated they were with a legal firm and someone would be contacting me tomorrow between 9am and 4pm tomorrow to serve me with legal documents.
That seemed sketchy so I asked who the documents were to be served to and what they were for. Turns out it wasn't for me. But I've never heard of a law firm calling you in advance to serve you with documents. They just show up and give them to you.
I wonder if I'd gotten more details if they would have told me this was about overdue collections or something. I've gotten that kind of scam phone call before.
Of course it's also possible that this person simply lied about their phone number and just happened to pick mine.

I got the same phone call as Matt- they said it was a law firm and they were going to serve me with Legal papers and I said if you know my phone then you know where I am located and she said that she needed to "confirm" the address. So I asked to tell me what the address was and she could not she said that I had to tell it to her and then that would confirm it and they would come and serve my papers. I work at a Law office and we did a search on the phone number and it is not in the law library of any legal members at all in nebraska. So i happen to think this might be a scam or a id theft. Watch out.
I received the same type call from a very rude lady said that her home office was going to be serving me legal papers and I informed her that if it was collections to stop calling as I have filed bankruptcy as I told the last person that called from the same "company". She said no one had called me or there would be a note in her computer and there was none...then told me to stop getting loud?? She also said her office just opened ... Yeah scam for sure!
I just got the call and was told it was de associates.. legal documents to go to court?? Gave me a phone number. a case nuber and wouldn't tell me what or who it was all about.. tried to call the phone number back and it's disconnected.. so I guess I will see if I get a legal document to go to court..
