I got a call from this number too, I called them back and it was Ford Motor Credit. My car payment was overdue!!! I told them if they get a dollar of bailout money I wont give them another dime.
The other day I finally called this # (Ford Motor Credit?) and told them they're calling my son's new cell # a few times per day & hanging up, & that I want to get my son's # off their call list. The guy asked, "Do you have any account with us?" I said, "NO! And my son is a KID!" He put me on hold forever and then I was disconnected. Ugh! I called back, asked for this next guy's name (Albert, who spoke more fluent English), told him the problem and what just happened, and that I did not want to be disconnected again. He took down the cell # and said he'd get it taken off the call list. He then gave me a # to call just in case my son keeps getting these calls. The number he gave me is 1-800-860-5811. My son has not gotten a call since and it has been over two days! Hope this helps someone.
Maybe if you would pay for your car like you agreed to when you signed the paperwork, they wouldn't be in a position to potentially need "bailout money."
By the way, Ford doesn't need any, and neither would GM or Chrysler if the banks were lending money like they are supposed to, when THEY received REAL bailout money; The car companies have simply asked for a loan - but not Ford, so pay your bill, and shut up.
