I just received 2 calls from this caller, left 4 messages on my voicemail... threatening me with litigation by a judge or magistrate or trail by jury. Said it was a 2nd attempt each time to reach me but didn't say who they were trying to reach. That I would be arrested and that I was needing to call Immediately if I didn't want further action taken against me. One message did reference taxes or something like that.. the call is garbled and very staticky
Received a call at 11:43am but no message was left.
Just city and state for caller ID and from 10 years of experience these calls are 100% scams.
I never answer them anyway and never call the numbers back even if they do leave a message.
Blocking this number on my phone handset along with the other 80+ calls already blocked there in less than 5 months...
Called my landline. It was a message saying he was calling from the treasury department and that it's a second attempt. Things apparently have already have been filed with the courts and that I could be arrested. Please don't these people have anything better to do.
Adding an update - they have called my house another 3 time since the first call yesterday.
That's 4 calls in 2 day - so far.
I blocked the call on my home phone so it doesn't ring and therefore doesn't interrupt me, but the phone still shows the calls and that they were blocked.
The iRS and treasury department never calls and demands money - this is a scam. If you owe taxes you will get a LETTER from the IRS - not a phone call (or an email)!
And if you do get a letter, look up the number for the IRS somewhere else (not the letter or email) and call their office to make an inquiry about the letter. If you do get an email, never click on the links or reply.
