It is for a debt collection company in California called Century group. This company contacted me about a debt that was paid off through a different company over 2years ago and stated I was going to be served with papers and charged with fraud if I did not pay. this company buys debts from online payday lenders they buy from Hydra fund (also can be know as CMG group or Bahama marketing) that sell accounts to multiple debt collecters but will change your account number so you dont have proof if you paid it. I fthey are trying to collect on a debt that you paid get online and look how to send them a Cease and Assist letter that you can send to them staing you paid the debt off. Get their address and send the letter via ceritfied mail and keep the receipt tab that comes with it from the post office. DO NOT PAY THEM IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID YOUR DEBT! It is fraud for them to buy resolved debts they will change the account number. They are not attorney. If a voicemail is left trying to collect they can be in violation of the FDCPA act and can be counter sued, they cannot contact third parties for debt collection so if they leave a message and some one else hears it before you do they are in violation a voicemail can be considered a third party. CMS in New York is also a debt collector associated with CMG and Baham marketing.
