Credit card lowering interest offer. These calls are getting out of hand...my own research says this call originates from Omaha NE... I tried to save some money when my cell contract ended and thought I'd try pay as you go AT&T. These calls have cost me nearly every dollar of my $50 card since I am a low to emergency call user. Is AT&T selling it's customers numbers to anybody who wants it? If my new cell phone number is recycled from a previous owner, isn't that a breach of contract? As far as I was concerned I pay for a new number along with my new handset. Only 2 other people have been given my cell number and i don't fill it out on forms online or anything.
They target pay as you service to people whom a long term contract doesn't fit because of low usage, but you still end up paying more than necessary in the end...in my case 95% of all calls have been bogus junk calls like this one and AT&T charges me 25 cents just for picking up and answering.
Contract or not, it makes me wonder why with all this technology there is no filter or regulating going on...it seems to me like the phone carriers know they can only benefit from turning a blind eye to tele sales callers, scam or not. What about the government, the FCC? All these powers seem to be far too passive on the general public/consumer side of things. These companies are nothing but a racket whether you chose contract/no contract.....people paying extra for multimedia data phone plans? I wonder why? Data, voice, They all come down the same technology pipeline...just some features are disabled until you pay more. BS.
Received yet another call (see my comments above) with the same recorded info claiming some sort of affiliation with Google. I pressed one and a woman came on the line asking if I was the owner of this company. I did not answer but asked her about what her company's affiliation is with Google and what their toll free number is. She said she would get that info and put me on hold. After 10 minutes with no one coming back on the line, I hung up and called the number. You guessed it! NO SUCH NUMBER!!!!1
402 982 0404 call - no message left - I have been recieving a lot of these call and hang up/no message calls since i put my resume on line a month ago. It's annoying!
Called and left no message. When I returned call, automated response said "Thank you for calling back. If you are not interested in receiving any more of our special offers, please press 1 to be placeed on our do not call list..."
This number is NOT Google! It is a collection agency by the name of Private Suite. They are calling to try to collect on a bill that in alot of cases is over the statute of limitations. What they're doing is trying to make money. They couldn't care less if it's owed or not.
They also use 402-982-0601 and 402-982-0557. Maybe others?
Try Bud Hibbs.com for info on all these scam companies.
