A year ago fell for it but disputed it in my credit card, Now they started to call again to give me a refund. All they want is "My bank ID and password" to deposit my refund. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a call from this number; he said that he is doing a fund rising for the police community for the children. He sound very demanding and rude, he asks if he can count on my support, I told him that won't make any commitment over the phone, but if he sent me some brochure about the cause, I certainly can consider the donation. He told me that he want me to make a commitment first before he send me the information. When I told him no, I won't make a commitment to anything I don’t understand about it firs. He just hung up. Does anyone know if this is legitimate?
"he want me to make a commitment first before he send me the information" makes it likely it's a scam. As a rule, never give $$$ when a stranger calls or call any number he gives you. If you want to give, get contact info from a safe source like a phone book. In this case, I'd suggest calling your local police dept. and ask if they know anything about this.
