Called and asked for me by name. Said that they were investigating (a female name I can't remember) and asked what I knew about Richard Ball. I asked them to spell the last name because I thought I didn't understand them. It was Richard Ball. I told them that I didn't know anyone by that name. They asked again if I was (my name) and if my phone number was (my number). I stated yes. He then said that Richard Ball had me down as a contact. I told them again that I didn't know him. He said that he would take me off of their calling list.
When I told my co-worker about it, she said that it was a bill collector and that they were just using that as a tactic to get information from me. My co-worker said that they called her once about her son and she was in a panic thinking he was in trouble. She took their number and had her son call them and when he called them they stated that they were going to serve him with papers and that they needed his address. She said that her son told them that if they were the police or any kind of "criminal authority" it shouldn't be hard for them to get his address since he is registered where he lives. They hung up on him.
