Just got a call at work from this number. No name on Caller ID, just the phone number. I answered it with our business name and there was only silence on the other end. I waited and then said, "Hello." They disconnected. I was hoping to find more info here. :( Oh well, I'm not calling them back and won't answer again if they call.
Why do you answer, if that's the case? You must know it's these people calling, since you're reporting the number. Don't answer next time, and consider getting a call blocker if they keep calling after a few days. If you keep answering, they will keep calling and also trade your number to other scammers.
Some land line providers offer free blocking service for up to a certain amount of numbers. There are also phones that have call blocking features built in (Panasonic makes some) and if it's a cell phone, you can download a free app to block calls. They work really well.
You're suggestions are beyond submissive. These people are relentless and extremely bothersome, at all hours. Nobody should have to go those routes and the authorities should subpoena their phone and criminal charges should be pursued.
