I had applied online with this company thinking they were an existing client of mine and their customer.
I contract with Global Resources based out of Appleton, NJ with offices all over the United States. Their largest customer, also National, is Insight Technologies. As a consultant for them, we often tell customers we are Insight Global engineers.
I spoke with two separate people that called from the Atlanta, GA area based on my Caller ID, and the 404 area code which is Inside the I-285 perimeter in Downtown Atlanta.
Both advised me of Call Center work locally, they were not affiliated with Global of New Jersey, Seattle Washington, Baltimore, MD, and the Insight Office in Orlando, FL I work with. They did clarify they are a Staffing agency, and advised me of the local customer's name (I am familiar with and the proper address) they wanted me to contract for.
They appear Okay at this time. I'll know for sure if they contract me with their client and pay the agreed contract rate we discussed. As a rule when subcontracting to a company, I require a written contract stating the hours, hourly wage or salary, per diem or mileage rate if I provide a vehicle, and double time pay for holiday's, nights, and weekends. In Georgia, especially being a "Free Employer" State with weak labor laws and no protection for employee's, especially 1099 or W9 contractors, a written legal contract is the only protection you have in this state. Verbal or online contracts are not binding or legal here.
