Called and said they were the IRS that I owed money, and I need to call them back. Of course I did not call them. Google shows the number as belonging to a paternity testing lab in Atlanta. Looks like someone is working overtime there

Dont be fooled
Caller stated that she was a Mrs. Wilson from the IRS investigative unit, and that I should contact her at this number (1-404-287-0590 ) as soon as possible. She also advised " that if I didn't, contact her"  I WOULD BE SORRY.  She spoke with a British accent.

Received call from #. Said was urgent call fromIRS.  I or my attorney should call asap. Wanted to verify tax info. Could only wish me 'very good luck' if I did not return call.  Her name was Jessica Wilson & had British accent.  I know iRS does not call.  Has to be a scam!!!!

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

The message was all broken up. My father said they used my name so he had me call back. The man that answered had an Indian accent and said the case was directed at Wayne (my father). He told the man that if the IRS needed to collect that the IRS would be calling themselves - the man hung up. We tried calling to local police and city office, but all were closed (again, Good Friday). Called PA Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Consumer Protection and they said that as long as we gave no information that no steps need to be taken. She also said that they are very aggressive this time of year (end of tax season) and that the news show warning stories about these scams.

Fakery Tip-Offs:
* Called on Good Friday
* Broken up message
* Called instead of mailing a letter
* Robotic Voice
* Wishing "good luck" if we do not return call
