same story. plus i owe $4850 and i'd better get a criminal lawyer because they are going to arrest me for ingnoring them and i'd better make arrangements for the next 6 months in prison. very easily offended. i asked if this was a joke and they hung up after i was told they would be on their way to arrest me. waiting to be arrested.
Received phone call from the phone number 404-287-2210, stating that they were the U.S. Treasury and that there was litigation being stRted against me. When I called the number a lady gave me a fictions badge number. When I questioned her further she hung up the phone. After I tried callin back I just get a busy signal.
My mom got a call from this number from 'Caroline Miller' who claimed she was with the IRS and instructed my mom to immediately go and wire $4,250 which she owed from 2009 and 2010 tax returns that were filled in error. This person also gave a fake badge number and claimed if this wasn't done they would arrest my mom. I called 'Caroline' back from my office and I decided to turn the tables on her and said I was calling on behalf of a client and that I worked at the IRS and needed all pertinent information related to their investigation. After that I was sternly warned to not call back and got hung up on, I attempted to call back but got busy signal.
Wow just yesterday I was getting a grant from the US Treasury for 9,200 if I called a different number and wired them 200$, notes the Treasury says I outer them money... Lol ..I wonder if they could just t take the 4450 our of my 9,200...... What is sad is people actually get taken by these people!
Me too! Yesterday I got a call on my answering machine, around 9:00 am EDT from a David Gray speaking with a British accent saying, this was the second notice and that I would be brought before a magistrate for a suit brought against me by the treasury department, and I was to call back to avoid criminal liability. Gee, where do these people dream up this stuff! I didn't call back fearing that I get some outrageous charges on my phone bill. Today there was an article in the local paper about a number of these calls in the area, and that it was a money scam.
