Some neighboring phone numbers to those controlled by Highland have in the past attracted similar complaints of extortion dressed as debt collection. The talkoffs vary a little but the ruse is the same. Highland may well be another business name which will be discarded and replaced as part of a larger system of diffused lawbreaking.

number on hiatus until Apr 2014, when the game suddenly changes to fake PC techs
First call I got was in june 2014 on my sisters fone from a guy leaving me a voicemail saying his name was mike jones (I dnt recall the name of the company) and he was a debt collector for advance america (which I do owe) so I called him back and his viocemail said said his name was mike but it was a different last name. I ended up talking with him and his "supervisor" and these people suckered me into giving them my prepaid netspend card number and putting $260 on it and I was supposed to put the same amount on it for the following three months. My husband had to sell his truck so I could give them that money and then a few days later my husband seen on the news that there was a scam goin on that fit all the things they were tellin me so when the next month came I decided not to put the money on my card and they didn't call until a few days ago different guy this time his name is matthew taylor from highland financial legal services. So my mom told me to contact the better business bureau n find out if it was real I called and it said they have no record of that business so my husband said to google the number and that lead me here. Good thing is I gave them a prepaid card number and now I will my own investigation on these [***]!
***be doing**** ...... Next time they call I will be answering and asking them for the validation notice and probably giving them a peice of my mind for making us sell my husbands truck!
I received a call from HFS Arbitrations, Ms.Simmons is the lady I spoke with. She said I owed a payday loan from 2010 ( I didn't take one out in 2010, but did take one out in 2007) she said my payday loan was for $200 but with fees and all I now owed $800 plus. I told her I had someone call a few months before and it was a scam, she said this was a real collections office and I needed to pay them $230 plus $10 fee every time they pulled the funds from my liquid card.... Ms.Simmons said that if I didn't pay a warrant would be issued for my arrest for writing a bad check.. I asked her to send me the info of the loan I owed and she sent me an email. I emailed her back and told her I needed a letter with the company's letter head, and that I wouldn't be making any payments until then. I didn't hear from Ms. Simmons until the day the funds were supposed to be pulled out of my account, that's when she said she got my email ( a week later mind you) but still insisted that I put the funds in the card which I didn't. I got a call from this people everyday for 7 days. The last call I got was very threatening, saying I had till end of business day to contact them or they will send me to jail ( I still haven't received the letter btw)
I do owe a payday loan, and all they wanted was for me to make arrangements which I have. Don't fall for these type of threats, all they want is to get all your money!!!
