"verified amazon number
I'm a seller on Amazon.com and the following reply was sent to me in relation to my query about the suspicious number +914043451000 (alt. 00914043451000 / 914043451000), lodged with the Amazon's own seller support. "I have gone through your e-mail message and understand that you have received a suspicious phone call from contact number +914043451000. I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. On researching, I learn that this number is one of our registered contact number where we call to our sellers when any external information requires from the seller. I also learn that that one of my colleagues required some information from your end and hence she called you from that registered number. Please be assured that this number is Amazon's one of the registered contact number."

Even then I would never give "some information from your end" that has anything to do with security such as your social security number. Never. They should have that info already. In my case I was asked only for my zip code when my zip code was actually displayed wrong on their affiliate website. I'm not a "seller" as mentioned for 'nicky' in her posting above but I'm a blog affiliate. They have well over 2,000,000 affiliates as of 8 years ago (2008).
The English used in the email she quotes indicates her direct Amazon seller-support rep might be writing from India.
Do you have any interaction with Amazon.com? I believe that is the number that shows up when you get a call from their billing or Accts Receivable area.
Yes I got a call from this number this morning by a lady with a strong eastern European accent, she new my full name and the last 4 digits of my card, I stated I have not used amazon for over 6 months and the card in question was cancelled yesterday due to being lost, she then hurriedly got of the phone
I am in the uk, the full number that called me was +914043451000.
I felt this was suspicious, so I called amazon and they stated that they have not called me and would not do so unless there was suspected fraud on my account, I also spoke with them about other reasons to call me and ask them to look into this further and they stated they have had no contact with me since I last personally contacted them direct some time ago.
I called the uk police none emergency number 101 and reported the issue, they stated that the dialing code is Indian in origin and it appears to be made from one of those pre pay calling cards and then it has been rerouted.
they gave me a number for the cyber fraud dept which I called and they logged it stating that it is suspicious. I also called my bank and set up a security number on my account.
Very strange, I hope this helps someone else if they have a similar call and are wondering what is going on.
The caller demanded that they know whom was speaking after I laughed at the attempt tp pronounce my name. When again I asked with who they would like to speak with since they were the one intiating the call they hung up.
Two calls at 6 a.m. New Years Day 2013. I don't answer calls on my cellphone that are not known; being registered with the DNC (since inception of DNC) does not prevent these calls once a company sells your phone number for $$.
Seeing the previous message about this possibly being Amazon, I realized my last two purchases were off the Amazon site. So, maybe my phone number wasn't sold, and it was acquired through those purchases. Could the merchants selling on Amazon have a security issue?
Got a call from this number stating I had purchased a computer and they had the last 4 of one of my Visa cards. When I told them I didn't order anything they said they would cancel. the complete number was 914043451000.
