Caller ID said CRG. Message left. It was a pitch for the "absolutely free" installation of a home security system; all you have to do is place a "small sign" in your front yard with the company's name on it. Everyone should keep in mind that the installation might be free, but the monthly subscription fee to the security firm certainly isn't. The installation is, of course, useless without CRG providing monitoring.
I have learned that these highly aggravating calls are a permanent part of life. Government officials say there is no way they can be stopped.. Apparently because most of them are out of the country. However, we know perfectly well that phone companies can create the software to totally end this. We pay the phone bills, but, the company ignores the problem. All I can think is that they are profiting from this is some way. Much as the post office profits from junk mail. I guess we give up.
