I just received a all from this number on my cell phone which is an unlisted number and is also on the Do Not Call listing. It is apparently in Georgia, but I have no idea who it is or how they got my number. I did not answer it, and I don't believe that they left me a message.
This company is promoting a new magazine deal. They also have a finalist thing going on for a million dollars. I was one of the final 5. They got your number from any online survey you may have completed.
i got this call about a year ago... they actually told me that i won a car and that im now put in a drawing to win a million. so i was like ok and they said have a nice day and hung up. then they called me 2 days later telling me the same thing. i told the woman that someone already called and u dont have to explain. then she asked me if anyone told me about the magazine subscription. she kept talking and talking i wasnt even listening, saying yes to everything she said. then a week later i got a bill in the mail for almost $400! it was from this publishing company so i called them and asked what it was all about. the woman told me that i subscribed to 5 magazines for this long of a time. i had no idea what she was talking about. she told me that she had a recording of me saying that i wanted the subcriptions. i explained to her i wasnt listening to the woman talking about the subcriptions and i didnt think she would ask me. i started yeling at her cuz i didnt need the subcriptions and i already have the magazines that were being sent to me. she kept telling me that they already paid the magazine subcriptions and i need to pay them back. she was telling me that there is nothing i can do. i have to pay it no matter what. i told the woman that i was going to take her to court because the company tries to get people by saying they might win 1 million but just ask for subcriptions. she told me that i can try but i wont win. i told her well i dont have $400 to give you and she gave me an attitude asking me why i said yes if i didnt have the money......are you serious? i wasnt paying attention. she just didnt understand. i wanted to punch her in the face. then 2 days later i got a call from a debt collector, and he said that he heard i didnt have enough money to pay for subcriptions... that damn woman called a debt collector to get the money from me.
now my brother got the same call today. he tells me that someone called and said he might win 1 million. i asked whats the number and i told him if they call you again answer it and yell at them and tell them to stop stalking my family and leave us alone and add some swears in it.
It's a telemarketer telling that you won "free" gas vouchers (the prize may change) that they'll send you if you try their other service (don't remember what crap that was) for the low introductory rate of, I think it was $1.98. You can cancel at any time before the price jumps up to the normal price (I forget the normal price). Good luck cancelling that. Besides, it sounds to me like a SCAM to get my credit card number. They call from different numbers and different states. I've gotten these calls from (408) 651-8160 & (404) 418-4005. The person I talked to said if I change my mind, I could call (866) 379-2003 (I bet I'd get charged for that). They keep calling and if I don't answer and let it roll into voicemail, I get a message, but it's just 5 or 10 seconds of music.
