This is Sallie Mae calling about a student loan. My ex-wife took out a career training loan in my name (line of credit) and never paid it, nor did she tell me about it, so I never paid it. I get calls all hours of the day, 7 days a week, starting at 6am, even though I'm paying on it now. Apparently it's a civil matter and not a criminal one because it involves an ex-spouse.
That also call from these numbers: 773-469-7628, 786-525-5872, 866-517-3081, and 404-423-4629.
Sallie Mae is the devil, so make sure you never owe them a cent.
This call is from Sallie Mae... my son has a student loan that he is not able to pay. This company searches everyone with the same last name as the debtor and makes random calls until they reach someone who knows the debtor. Unless you are Smith, they have a pretty good chance of finding someone who knows the debtor - esp if you are in a smaller sized town. They even called my ex-wife (different last name now but found her in old directories under my last name!). They call cousins, aunts, grandparents, etc until someone gives up the debtor's tel number or address.... so everyone in the family now knows your personal business.
They are a nuisance! But... it is their job to collect on deadbeats.
I have had calls from this number and a 800-459-4313 number, all hours day and night. They do not leave a message, when I called their number it has a recorded greeting "your call may be monitored", then "please hold", then someone mumbles "Sallie Mae". It sounds like some collection agency. I told them they have a wrong number, I have not ever had a student loan and don't know how they got my number. It is absolute harrassment and so ridiculous.
I've been getting calls from Salee May for almost two years now - even though I never had any student loans. They keep asking for Michele something. Every single time I explain to them that they have the wrong number, and to please take me off their list. Never seems to work. Sometimes they go for months without calling, and sometimes they call 3 times a day - here are the two numbers they use:
866-517-3059
404-423-4629
The Child Molestors at Sallie, regarding a loan I'm about to default on. Added it to the block list on my phone, and I'll never get a call from this number again (=
If you're in debt, get a Windows-based smartphone, like a Motorola Q or a BlackJack. Buy a $9 software from Efficasoft called SmartBlock. You can put your creditors & unwanted callers on SmartBlock's "Black List", and poof - you'll never get a call again from them. You might get a v-Mail, but it's better to delete a v-Mail than talk to a creditor. In 7-10 years, your debt will be wiped clean off your credit report. I'm already 4 years along, and creditors rarely ever leave v-Mails - Well, Sallie Mae does!
