Also. true or false, it has been said that some 3rd and 4th party debt collection agencies have collected the debt from or attempted to collect the debt from innocent parties who gave these collection agencies their identifying information in good faith to prove they were not the party the collector was seeking, only to have the debt show up on their credit report as being theirs.
